BONJOUR PARIS

Embracing spontaneity with Skyscanner

Who knew all would start with someone telling me: “You should check ‘Skyscanner’, it shows cheap random flights”.
Farewell to my savings, hello to some unforgettable escapades!

With Skyscanner, your journey becomes a delightful dance with fate. Simply set your destination as ‘Anywhere’ (cue the faint echo of Rise Against’s ‘Anywhere but here’) and opt for ‘Flexible dates’.
Let spontaneity guide your adventure!

That time I snagged Bergamo-Paris tickets for 25 euros. It was practically a steal!
Pair that with an Airbnb that was just as budget-friendly, and voilà—a weekend getaway fit for a king. Throw in a Foo Fighters tribute concert, and my adventure was set in motion!

Paris greeted me with open arms, and I wasted no time diving into its trendiest spots. I ended up clinking champagne glasses atop Le Tour Eiffel, with newfound friends. Too fancy for me? Nah, I’m worth it 😉

After that I just went around the city “AS A GASTRONOME” (I’ll be using this term often as a fancy substitute for glutonious foodie) tasting some of the classic French delicacies. Savoring Crepes by Notre Dame, or munching Choux pastries as I strolled through the city, I ended up treating myself with some galettes (savory crunchy crepes) at Breizh Cafe, one of the best, if not the best place for getting them.

As I arrived at the Louvre, I found a saxophone player covering Bruno Mars’ ‘When I Was Your Man.’ I guess everyone relates that song to someone. He was nailing the song while shattering my heart, such a smooth player.

As night fell, I had an appointment to cap off the evening with a multiple cover tribute to the Foo Fighters. The bands rocked the stage as I sang my lungs out to my favorite songs — ‘Monkey Wrench’, ‘Learn to Fly’, ‘Times Like These’, ‘My Hero’, and ‘Everlong’. My voice was gone, but my heart was mended again.

Sadly, the trip came to an end the day after, but not before grabbing a fresh-out-of-the-oven baguette for breakfast. I truly need to explore more of Paris, so stay tuned for my next post. This time, I might encounter and kick some rats on the streets! Well, I hope not. Luckily, I didn’t see any this time, so for now, the myth of finding rats everywhere still stands — at least not in winter.
