DO YOU WANNA GO FOR AN APERITIVO?

You order the drinks, THEY’ll bring the bites.

And no, I’m not talking about liqueurs, cordials, digestives, or starters. I’m talking about an Italian tradition that’s as delightful as it is delicious.

Aperitivos are magical windows of time when you can catch up with friends, relax after a long day, or you can even use it as an excuse to ask out your crush. It’s a beloved ritual across Italy, where people gather for drinks—wine, Negronis, spritzes, cocktails, or beer (you name it)—typically between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Though these days, some spots keep the good vibes going even later.

Here’s how it works: you order your drink, and the bar or restaurant surprises you with a spread of snacks to nibble on. Sometimes it’s simple, sometimes it’s generous, and there’s definitely an ongoing quest to find the most over-the-top aperitivo offerings!

Over the years, the aperitivo culture has evolved, places are constantly adding their own creative spins. Ever heard of Aperipizza (think mini pizzas galore) or Aperisushi (for sushi lovers)? Then there’s Apericena, where the snacks are more like a full-blown dinner disguised as finger food. Whatever the twist, the heart of aperitivo remains the same: an excuse to share a drink and good vibes with your friends.

So, what do you say? Wanna have an aperitivo with us?
